Heavy rains in Bombay
News just in that Bombay has received one of the heaviest rainfalls in the last one hundred years. Metereologists have said that parts of the city have received nearly 600 to 800 mililitres of rain and the TV images are of flooded roads, rail tracks and cars stranded on flyovers.
Many of our friends and family (including some members of this blog) are residents of Bombay and we like to pray for their safety and that of their loved ones. I've already got news that my brothers and their families are safe and that my sister-in-law who is visiting Bombay at the moment is safe as well. But there are so many others that I know who are there in that city and I haven't heard any news from them. So do write back and tell us how you are doing. In the meantime, let's keep the people of that city in our prayers and thoughts.

where we should have received it in 30 days. More than 500 people died and they are still recovering more dead bodies. All essential services were badly
affected. Many were stranded for more than 24 hours to get home. We still have'nt got our electricity restored in our house. 12 homes of our
church members were badly hit. Some of the homes are not livable yet. We had few people staying at our place for last three days. Many other churches had
their share of the story. Do remember us in prayer.
Pray that:
a.. There will not be an epidemic due to this flood.
b.. All the essential services will be soon restored back to normal.
c.. The poor who has taken the brunt of this worse monsoon and have lost their loved ones & homes will know the grace of God to go through a time
such as this.
d.. All the wrong rumors to stop about more such rains coming which has put fear into many people in the city.
e.. City will have a better drainage system to be in place to handle such eventualities.
f.. All the governing authorities to have wisdom and courage to handle things like these.
g.. The Church will unite to help those affected in the city.
h.. We will know the mind of Christ in such times to lead the people of God forward.
