Walk of faith

Am not sure if any of you have seen the movie - The Walk?

It's about this Frenchman who performed an incredible stunt back in the 70s - he did a ropewalk between the two towers of the World Trade Centre in New York - without any safety harness!!!

But it's not the rope walk that I want to talk about here even though such an outrageous stunt certainly deserves a post of its own.

What I really want to share is something that the instructor played by Ben Kingsley said to this stuntman. While scolding him for clumsiness, Ben Kingsley's character said that the biggest danger for a tight rope walker is not at the very centre that  - to most eyes - appears to be dangerous. Instead, the dangerous part of a tight rope walk is near the end when the person is just few minutes away from the end. At this point, many are filled with over confidence and forget the caution they exercised when at the center. They feel they're almost there and so fail to be vigilant... and many fall off the rope and die.

And in many ways when we are in a spiritual warfare or going through deep intercession or in a moment of 'waiting upon the Lord' we can often be tempted to go slack when we are almost there at the end of our journey. We feel we don't need to be so fervent now that the breakthrough is almost here... we don't need to cry out since the end is within sight.

But the word of God says, pray without ceasing

It's when we feel we don't need to pray anymore that we need to pray more. It's not the frequent prayers does magic but it's the attitude of heart that is most crucial here.

A heart that holds on in faith, a heart that doesn't give up, a heart that believes in the prayer answered even when one doesn't see anything, a heart that's so faith-filled that mountains have no other choice but to tremble and move since that's what Jesus said a mustard seed size faith does
