The Resurrection Continues

Try and imagine this scenario.

Last week, your friend and mentor was killed in the most humiliating manner possible. And instead of coming to his rescue, you fled the scene in panic and helplessly watched him die a painful death.

At the back of your mind there was this nagging thought that you should have done something, and you are feeling extremely guilty about it. The fog of pain you are already in is not making things any easier. And to make matters worse, you feel that you need to come to terms with the painful realisation that you may not, after all, be the good and trusted friend that you thought you were.

And then, a few days later, you hear from your colleagues that your friend and mentor is alive, and that he is raised from the dead. Your mind is suddenly torn into conflict. On the one hand, you are not sure if it's possible for anyone to rise from the dead, and yet there's a part of you that wants to believe it to be true. And if it's really true like the others are saying, you are afraid of actually meeting your friend.

You are positive that your act of betrayal and cowardice has scarred this friendship forever. You are certain that something precious has been lost because of what you did last week.

Hence, you are not really prepared for what actually happens when you finally meet your friend. He looks straight into your eyes and forgives you, accepts you, and restores the relationship, and makes it even stronger than what it was earlier.

You feel alive once more. Alive and grateful. Alive and yearning to tell others of such love that reached out from the grave to give your life meaning and purpose.
